Black Swan

Here is a drawing of the Black Swan make up design from the film, and my own interpretation of how I would do it. The original make-up design has black wings on  the eyes. This is effective as the film is about the swan and also the black creates connotations of evil (which is represented within the film). She has red eye contacts in, which I decided to keep in my own design as I think this clearly represents that her character is evil and also stand out with the black make up around her eyes. I changed the purple lipstick to red lipstick to create a common theme of black and red. Both these colour represent evil such as the links to blood and danger. Also, instead of using the black wings around the eyes, I have used a black colour then I would stick black feathers around her eyes then blend the black to grey underneath her eyes. I have done this as it creates an alternative link to swan wings painted on the face and I have made it more 3-D. The red dots hanging of the black lines on her cheeks can represent that they are tears and therefore this further shows the characters passion for ballet.
